第一天:西子湾站—西子湾隧道—国立中山大学—打狗英国领事馆官邸—海之冰—情人桥—瑞豐夜市—六合夜市—舜鈺商務旅館

This time is our far trip where we go to Taiwan as our graduation trip. I go with my coursemates. Before that, we have booked our ticket at 11 August 2010 which cost us RM1652  (vice-versa for 4 person). Start proper research and planning early of 2011. We fly from Kota Kinabalu to Taiwan at 19th May 2011, therefore we arrive one day early at Kota Kinabalu. We stay at Zing Yi’s brother apartment. We did the web checkin in Air Asia website and print it.

Remember: If you are visiting Taiwan from soon, just print out your flight booking and you can redeem a limited edition of EasyCard (悠游卡) with NT$50 value inside the card at Taiwan Visitors Association KL . We can refund the balance yet keep this card. I would recommend using this card when travel in Taipei as there is some small discount on the transportation fairs using this card.

We have booked our food online. It’s more cheaper than buying in the flight. LHS: AA Asian Fried Rice Combo   Middle: Vegetarian Rice Combo (Poor Choice)  RHS: AA Chicken Rice Combo (Best Choice)

As it is a budget flight, the seats were not so comfortable. It took 3 hours 20 minutes to Taiwan. It’s shorter than flying from Kuala Lumpur. Because we are not seat a big flight like Boeing 727, sothere is no small screen in each seat where you can select your movies, music, games and chatting services.

It’s fun & excited when we about to landing in Terminal 2, Taoyuan International Airport.

Successful landing

Reach Tao Yuan International Airport (台湾桃园国际机场) Terminal 2 at around 9.30am. I can feel it getting cold at here.

After that, we’re going to apply the Youth Travel Card (青年旅遊卡) at Tao Yuan International Airport Terminal 2 for FREE, as long as you are within 15-30 years old. It provides discount and special offers on admission tickets, transportation, accommodation and culinary delicacies for free and easy traveler like us.

We also apply the Digital Tour Buddy 寶貝機 but only received with NT$100 phone credit value on it. Because of the peak period, we’re unable to receive Digital Tour Buddy (寶貝機). This promotion starts March 2010 and we apply 3 weeks before our trip. We need to return the phone back to them when we leave Taiwan.

On way to buy bus ticket, we can see this welcoming board <<Welcome to Taiwan>>

Take a photo..haha… Eeh..why become 8 people o??.. Ooo..The others 4 is Sie Ting friends that we have meet them before in Senai INTL Airport last night (18/05/2011), they’re same flight with us from Johor Bahru to Kota Kinabalu and to Taiwan.

We finally arrive at 高雄 at about 4.30pm. We check in at 舜鈺商務旅館 . Website: http://www.shun-yu.com.tw . It’s quite cheap & cost us NT$1480 per night for 4 persons. It’s quite near to Kaohsiung Main Station (高雄车站). We spend about 5 minute walk to reach MRT station. The room has “wooden” odor but still acceptable. One of my friend bikes by “kutu” cause her “redness” at her shoulder. Fortunately, she is ok.

After we check in & put the luggage at hotel, it’s about 5pm. We’re going to Sizihwan (西子湾) by Kaohsiung Metro (orange line). Route: 西子湾站—西子湾隧道—国立中山大学—打狗英国领事馆官邸—海之冰—情人桥—瑞豐夜市—六合夜市—舜鈺商務旅館

After we have a long walk at Sizihwan, we’re feel thirsty and decide going to eat Sizihwan famous “ 大碗水果冰” before continue our next several places such as情人桥,Ruifeng Night Market (瑞丰夜市) and Liuhe Night Market (六合夜市)。It’s located 2 minute from打狗英國領事館官邸 by taxi.

“海之冰” shop

“海之冰” shop sold hundred types of mixed fruit ice blended. Wow!!! So many when you see through the menu!!! type of mixed fruit ice blended can be divided into small, normal & big bowl. We just order 2 normal bowl of mixed fruit blended ice & it can be considered big bowl for us. But I forget what‘s the name of two normal bowl of mixed fruit ice blended we had order. It’s consists of mango, banana, watermelon, honeydrew, guava, coconut, strawberry, pineapple, peanut, 珍珠 & so on.

Hmm…yummy^^

Wow!!! Everyone can leave a message after eating ice blended

We write our name & dun forget also “THE E18HTEEN”

情人桥

Snap a photo at情人桥 even though we are not couple

On the way back to Sizihwan MRT, we see a big“停” on the road & never see before in Malaysia

Next we headed to RuiFeng Night Market (瑞豐夜市), the largest night market at Kaohsiung. We took the Kaohsiung Arena MRT (巨蛋站) to the night market. Taiwan night markets are far more different from Malaysian night market. I expected Taiwan night market is very big before I going to Taiwan but to me, it’s not as big as I expected. Haha…

Ruifeng Night Market (瑞豐夜市)

Next we headed to Liuhe Night Market (六合夜市), another night market at Kaohsiung. We took the Kaohsiung Formosa Boulevard MRT (美麗島站) to the night market.

The food we ate in Ruifeng & Liuhe Night Market: 1.) 蚵仔煎 2.) 酥炸大鱿鱼 3.) 章鱼烧  4.) 绿豆鲜奶豆腐花 5.) Lemon 虾球 6.) 面线 7.) 糯米鸡 8.) 臭豆腐

After we went to Liuhe Night Market, we returned back to our hotel.
